Information security and quality are our top priorities when processing your data

When it comes to information security and the quality of our services, we hold ourselves to the highest standards. The services we provide are based on our management systems which are DIN EN ISO 9001 certified for quality and ISO 27001 certified for information security. You can have total peace of mind that all the required measures have been taken and nothing has been left to chance.

We protect your information

We place great importance on protecting the information that is entrusted to us, especially personal data. As a basic principle, all data is classified in accordance with ISO 27001 and within the framework of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) with regard to its protection aims (availability, integrity, confidentiality).

We differentiate between normal, increased, high and very high protection requirements and follow the established best practice recommendations of renowned institutions and organisations such as the Federal Office for Information Security (Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik). In line with a risk-based approach, we also pay particular attention to the interfaces with our external communication partners, since our ISMS takes into account all stakeholder requirements.

We communicate with our partners and customers using data channels that are sometimes multi-secured connections and we have subdivided our security architecture into different security levels (defence in depth strategy) and areas according to the criticality of data and the requirements.

If required for ultra-critical data, we can establish an isolated work environment in the form of a virtual desktop infrastructure. This includes for example, strict client separation, a multi-secured remote connection for external suppliers, as well as explicit access rights for select project contacts at STAR on a need-to-know basis.

Our quality assurance processes: your satisfaction

Our quality management system is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001 and our production processes are tightly aligned to the requirements of ISO 17100, ensuring that our quality targets are not just theoretical, but instead that they are achieved day after day. Our translation projects are undertaken within the framework of established standard processes that we are continually adapting and improving to meet new challenges. People are at the forefront of this. Our experts in the fields of project management, language technology and linguistics all have the relevant qualifications and specialist knowledge.

They are the reason that we are able to sustainably deliver a “just-in-time” translation service. Gaining our certification to ISO 18587 for the post-editing of machine translation output was also a matter of course. We follow the two-person principle for our translations which is in compliance with the quality assurance requirements of ISO 17100. Revisers are subject to the vendor management selection process according to DIN EN ISO 9001, with reference to the specialised requirements of ISO 17100. If required, we can also implement additional quality assurance steps such as a marketing proofread, or arrange an in-country review which is supported by our easy-to-use platform (STAR CLM WebEdit).

Uniform processes worldwide
for managed quality

Our translations don’t come from a chain of unmonitored sub-contractors, but instead are carried out in-house by our native-speaker professionals in our international STAR branches. These internal resources are supported by contractually bound, experienced linguists who we use for certain language combinations and specialist subject areas. Globally along the entire value chain, our emphasis is on uniform processes, stringent quality procedures and clear communication. This is how we deliver high quality – every day.

We take social responsibility seriously

We place great importance on maintaining a fair and responsible relationship with employees and external partners.
We have defined the basic principles of this in the form of our internal compliance guidelines and our code of conduct for suppliers, using the international SA 8000 standard as a reference.
It incorporates verifiable requirements concerning working conditions, such as occupational health and safety, discrimination, disciplinary practices and remuneration as well as topics such as forced labour or child labour.
STAR has been certified in accordance with this standard by independent auditors, a true testament to the company’s ethical and social responsibility to its employees and partners.
